My May 2015 Choices - K-Dramas, Actors, Songs, and more!

May has gone by extremely quickly and I've found some new favourites of mine this month. Although it might not be as much as last month, it's still something!

Who Are You: School 2015
At the start of this month, my new favourite Korean drama started (it even beats Pinocchio!) and it's been an absolutely amazing ride so far. It follows the story of Lee Eun Bi who was previously bullied at her old school. One day, she commits suicide when she was accused of something she never did, but was saved by her unknown twin sister, Go Eun Byul. However, after Eun Bi was saved, Eun Byul went missing and Eun Bi was forced to take her place at her new school with the childhood swimmer - Han Yi Ahn, and the hot delinquent - Gong Tae Kwang. I'm so sad that there is only another three weeks left, but I honestly hope the writers end the drama well with Eun Bi together with Tae Kwang and Eun Byul with Yi Ahn - also making sure that Eun Bi does not move school again.

Best K-Drama Moments: May Week #4 - The Girl Who Sees Smells, Producer, Orange Marmalade, Warm and Cozy + Who Are You: School 2015

The Girl Who Sees Smells [FINAL]
No honey for boo boo.

While Moo Gak and Cho Rim's face-off with serial killer Jae Hee carries over to the finale, this episode pampers romantic viewers with OTP moments galore. For this top ten, one would think I'd have picked a lovey-dovey scene, but I'm going for one that actually keeps our couple apart. As the two cling on to each other, Moo Gak and Cho Rim enter their apartment and give viewers a play-by-play of their "firsts" as newlyweds: their first time sitting on the sofa as a married couple, their first kiss as a married couple, and his first shower as a married man. After freshening up, Moo Gak smoothly glides back to the living room in only his bathrobe, obviously ready for his first non-PG lovin' with his wife. Unfortunately, Cho Rim's nowhere to be found, leaving him to help Detective Kang at a crime scene. Poor Moo Gak is in for his first case of the blues since saying "I do."

TMI Tag - Dorama Minaoshi Ver.

Eve - Pen & Key - invited anyone who wanted to do the TMI Tag (on her last post) to do it, and I had no other posts scheduled to do, so I thought I might as well do the TMI Tag as well. This also means I'm stealing a lot of Eve post ideas, but I hope she forgives me! ;) Anyway, here we go!

1. What are you wearing?
I decided to have a pajama day because my mother recently got injured so we can't go out for a few days (with the exception of the gym, but we skipped today because she was in pain), so I'm wearing my purple Geek pajamas with a lovely stripped bottoms.

Sealed with a kiss.

It's a new drama time!
Joon Mo and Ye Jin are best friends, currently living together after a drunken evening of lamentation when he agreed to let her live with him for the four months she's stranded without a home. He doesn't remember agreeing to it, but she's got proof in the form of a promissory note he wrote and signed with his fingerprint. However, something else took place that night - another thing he doesn't remember that potentially proves something he's never acknowledged to her. On that night, when she expresses her worry that he might take back his agreement (attributing it to alcohol), he decides to prove his sincerity by sealing his promise with a kiss.

May 2015 CFs: My Favourites of the Month

With a total of 15 commercials, April has brought up another bounty of CFs filled with eye candy and cuteness. There are a great variety of advertisements to enjoy this month. May was full of CFs from many popular stars. Jun Ji Hyun, in particular, reigns supreme as CF queen. We also see new CF queens and kings in the making.

Jun Ji Hyun (starred as Cheon Song Yi in My Love From the Stars) for Kloud:
The CF queen is back with a commercial for Kloud beer. She looks regal and gorgeous in her gold dress. The advertisement boasts that their product isn't diluted by water and is real beer.

News Article #10: May 20, 2015 - Lee Jong Suk Reveals Passion for Acting and Future Goals with Allure's Recent Photoshoot

Lee Jong Suk's summary pictorial for Allure Korea was recently revealed. It was relayed that during the shoot, Lee Jong Suk constantly impressed the staff with his transformations from an innocent young man to a charismatic actor. When asked about acting, he revealed his passion for acting, saying, "When I'm filming, it's very hard, but when I watch the broadcast I feel strangely cathartic. I kind of have a boring life, but in dramas, I become someone else and I can spend a meaningful day. I think I get second-hand satisfaction from that."

My Most Anticipated Upcoming May 2015 K-Dramas

Sorry this is quite late coming, but I never really intended to do a post on this. However, I have pretty much run out of ideas on what to write about. Unless another news bulletin comes out, the next post will be the 3rd week of May's moments. So anyway, here is the dramas I'm looking forward to this May.

Warm and Cozy
Airs: May 13, 2015
Every Wednesday + Thursday on MBC

Baek Geon Woo, a man that has everything that a women wants in a man: good looks, eloquence, and a gentle manner. Although he's the grasshopper type who only does things he wants to do, his honest personality is his charm. A clever man who knows his assets, he is unexpectedly innocent, opening a restaurant in Jeju Island just because the woman he likes is there.
Lee Jung Joo, a woman who has struggled and worked hard all her life but never has a break, resulting in exasperation. She plays the grouchy ant in the fable. She puts up a front of confidence and pride but is actually weak and delicate. Never missing a day of work during the 5 years at her company, she starts a new life in Jeju Island after losing her job, house, and boyfriend in Seoul.
The two meet at Jeju Island.

Best K-Drama Moments: May Week #2 - Always My Dad vs. Fear in Her Eyes

The Girl Who Sees Smells
You'll always be my dad.

I'm big on the bond between a parent and child, so, I loved this scene between Cho Rim and the man who introduced himself as her father after she awoke from her coma. I learned that Jae Pyo lost a child that would have been her age and that he loved Cho Rim like he would his real kid. We were especially touched by how our lovely Cho Rim was very understanding, reassuring him that she'd continue to love him as her father.

News Article #9: May 12, 2015 - "Orange Marmalade" Releases First Episode Teaser Video

Upcoming KBS fantasy romance drama Orange Marmalade has released a new preview video for its first episode, as well as stills of its leading actress, Seolhyun of AOA. In the preview video, Seolhyun's character inner torment of being a vampire is depicted, as well as Yeo Jin Goo's character gradually developing feelings for her. It also hints at conflict, as Lee Jong Hyun's character seems to want to disrupt the budding relationship between the two.

Problematic Children

Originally, I was going to do this post on how much I prefer Eun Bi with Tae Kwang, instead of Yi An (the mainstream couple) from Who Are You: School 2015. But, after watching Episode 4, I decided to do a post just based on Tae Kwang and his story (as we know it so far). Eun Bi's part will, however, still come in.

First of all, at the beginning of the series, we were introduced to Gong Tae Kwang when he was literally climbing down the side of the hospital when he was refused to be discharged. So, as most would infer from this, Tae Kwang is the sort of person who you wouldn't really want to get involved with. And that did stick with us for the next episodes as well. Because as soon as he got back into school, he'd already gotten into a fight with someone. Unfortunately, even though Tae Kwang does fight a lot, he isn't all that good at it. Hence why he was in the hospital... Or so we thought.

News Articles #8: May 9, 2015 - Lee Jong Suk and Park Shin Hye Attend 'Chanel Cruise Show' in Seoul + "Producer" Releases First Episode Teaser

Lee Jong Suk, Park Shin Hye and More Attend Chanel Cruise Show in Seoul
Actors Lee Jong Suk and Park Shin Hye attended french fashion house Chanel's latest cruise show, which was staged at the Dongdaemun Design Plaza in Seoul on May 4. For the collection, creative director Karl Lagerfeld drew inspiration from the hanbok, traditional South Korean dress. Jackets and dresses with wide multi-coloured sleeves were reminiscent of the jeogori, the upper garment of the hanbok. The models' black braided wigs and use of floral embroidery and materials like mother of pearl to decorate accessories nodded to the sartorial zeitgeist of the Joseon dynasty.

Important Life Lessons - Angry Mom Ver.

Sometimes dramas make you laugh, some make you cry, others make you rage, and a few bring you hope. MBC's Angry Mom did all of this with it's thoughtful and intense story about school violence and societal corruption. While there were many dark moments and scenes that made you despair, there was also a lot of hope and a lot of love. There was a mother's love for her daughter, a teacher's love for his students, a friend's love for a friend, and a boy's love for his first love. There were life lessons and adages, moving and relatable.

Best K-Drama Moments: May Week #1 - Oh Cho Rim's Past vs. Dropping By

The Girl Who Sees Smells
Oh Cho Rim learns that she is Choi Eun Seol.

The suspense is killing me! When the evil Chef Kwon asks Cho Rim to fetch a cookbook from his study, she stumbles upon the letter written by Dr. Chun Baek Gyung. I won't ask why she nosily read a letter that she didn't know was hers because off I care about is that she finally read it! But unfortunately for her, her serial killing boss caught her in the act.

Top 5 K-Drama Romantic Scenes

5. Doctor Stranger (2014)
Just Messing Around.

Soo Hyun one day mentions to Hoon that she didn't like his hairstyle as it was messy and wasn't suitable for a doctor. This led to Hoon messing up Soo Hyun's hair, and then into an adorable fight to see who can the opposing person's hair the messiest. Although they aren't the official couple of the drama, this screams affection and some kind of love (dovey love from Soo Hyun and bestie love from Hoon).

News Article #7: May 6, 2015 - Kang So Ra and Yoo Yeon Seok are Adorable in New Posters for "Warm and Cozy"

MBC's upcoming drama Warm and Cozy has released its first official posters, which feature Kang So Ra and Yoo Yeon Seok holding hands, hugging, and cuddling up together on a picnic blanket. According to reports, the actors and staff members were concerned on the day before their shoot was scheduled because of bad weather. However, on the afternoon of the shoot, the sun came out. They therefore considered this a good omen for the drama.

Happy Belated Birthday, Park Hae Jin!

Like I did with Park Shin Hye's birthday, I didn't realize it was Hae Jin's birthday until yesterday. I didn't do a post about it yesterday though because I had already written one, and I only realized around 11 o'clock at night. But never mind that, here is a dedicated post of Park Hae Jin's achievements to celebrate his birthday! Happy Birthday Park Hae Jin, the only actor who could play Han Jae Joon in Doctor Stranger and Lee Hui Kyeong in My Love From the Stars!

Don't Let Your Actions Destroy Someone Else's Life

This post is a few months older than I would have wanted it to be, but I'm posting it now, so that doesn't really matter. In the following video, it shows us how only one female journalist ruined a family's life by simply saying a few words. This Korean family was a happy one, they didn't have a single worry or doubt in their minds. However, one day, the father of the family went missing when his firefighter squad were almost all killed in a massive fire. Without investigating anything, reporters fled to the family and asked about his whereabouts - all assuming that the father had run away from the fire. By doing these actions, this pushed to mother and the younger son to commit suicide by jumping of a cliff (the younger son managed to survive). This led the elder brother to loathe reporters.

The Creative Blogger Award - Dorama Minaoshi Ver.

I was tagged by Eve - Pen & Key - to do the Creative Blogger award. The rules of the award is to just give five interesting facts about yourself. And then tag a bunch of people who you then want to do the award. So let's do it!

Five Facts About Me
1. I run a YouTube channel called Luxio Limerence, which I basically just open Pokémon packs, trades and other Pokémon merchandise. I've only uploaded one video so far because I just started on Thursday (30 April 2015), but I'm recording and uploading another video tonight, and then again on Monday (4 May 2015).

Best K-Drama Moments: April Week #5 - Lip Wiping vs. Resurrected and Reunited

The Girl Who Sees Smells
My lips will wipe that off.

Are we the only ones who didn't expect so much skinship lately? And how freaking prefect was this kiss? Moo Gak and Cho Rim are fast becoming one of our favourite OTPs, and the next time our boyfriends ask to come grocery shopping with us, we're going to tell them to stay home just so we can flirt on FaceTime with them!
In this scene, we loved that Moo Gak thoroughly enjoyed the food Cho Rim deemed inedible and how she opened up to him about her inability to remember the time before her coma. However, our favourite part was how she decided to wipe off a barely visible food stain off his lips. And despite Moo Gak's inability to feel, this got his blood boiling, leading him to hold her hand and pull her closer. She initially pulled away, but who can resist his bedroom eyes? Cho Rim certainly didn't when she caved in and lost herself in his kiss. If not for an interruption, they would have kept kissing all night long.

The British Tag - Dorama Minaoshi Ver.

Eve did a British Tag in her last post, and she tagged all British people, and as I am British myself (and somewhat Belgian), I thought I should all do the British Tag. I'm also tagging anyone who is British.

1. How many cups of tea do you have a day? How many sugars?
I don't usually have any sort of hot drink unless it's an extremely cold day or I felt like it, and when I do have a hot drink, it's always hot chocolate. Tea is way too bland in my opinion, and if I were to have it, I would have around about 20 sugars.
